Engagement rings and wedding rings often carry decades of memories, milestones and emotional significance, which makes every redesign project deeply personal. At Williamsburg Jewelers, we love helping guests transform beloved bridal jewelry into something that better fits their current lifestyle, taste and vision while still honoring the meaning behind the original piece.
Sometimes bridal jewelry redesign happens because styles have changed over the years. A ring that felt perfect decades ago may no longer reflect someone’s personal style today. Other times, jewelry has become badly worn or damaged from years of everyday wear, making a redesign a more practical option than repeated repairs. And sometimes, guests simply want a fresh new look or decide to celebrate a milestone anniversary with a larger or more updated design.
No matter the reason, custom bridal jewelry redesign is one of our greatest passions at Williamsburg Jewelers.
Creating a sleek, wearable custom ring design

In this particular redesign project, the centerpiece was a stunning marquis-cut diamond that already carried tremendous sentimental value. My guest loved her diamond, but she wanted a more modern and practical setting that she could comfortably wear every single day without worrying about snagging prongs or thin areas wearing down over time.
Together, we designed a sleek and elegant custom ring that focused equally on beauty, durability and wearability. The marquis diamond is now securely bezel set, offering both a clean contemporary appearance and excellent protection for the stone itself. To complement the center diamond, we incorporated channel-set accent diamonds into the band, creating additional sparkle while maintaining the smooth, streamlined feel my guest wanted.
Adding meaningful custom design details
One of the details that truly brought the design together was the addition of a hidden ring detail: the custom cut-out patterns along the sides of the bezel. These subtle design elements added personality, softness and artistic character to the ring while still preserving the sleek overall look she envisioned.
Custom jewelry design is often about those small details that transform a beautiful ring into something uniquely personal. Every design decision—from the bezel setting to the accent diamonds to the side detailing—was carefully chosen to create a ring that felt timeless, durable and perfectly suited for her daily life.

The finished ring achieved exactly what she had hoped for: a beautifully updated bridal ring that feels elegant, secure and incredibly wearable while still showcasing the sentimental diamond she already treasured.
